Photos of buildings come out with leaning verticals. Documents shot at an angle look trapezoidal. Product photography off-axis looks distorted. This tool rectifies the perspective so verticals are vertical and horizontals are horizontal — what your eye expected when you took the shot.
Two modes
- Auto: the model detects vertical and horizontal lines (windows, edges of documents, building corners) and corrects automatically. Best for architecture and documents.
- Manual: drag four corners to define the trapezoid; the tool warps to a rectangle. Useful for arbitrary distortions or when auto-detection fails.
When to use it
- Building photography. Wide-angle shots of buildings nearly always have keystone distortion. Fix to look like an architect's render.
- Document scanning. Phone photo of a receipt, contract, whiteboard. Rectify to a clean rectangle.
- Art reproduction. Photo of a painting on a wall — usually slightly off-axis. Rectify.
- Product photography. Off-angle shots that need to look square.
What it doesn't do
This corrects perspective, not lens distortion. For barrel/pincushion distortion (the curving of straight lines near the edges of wide-angle shots) you need lens-correction software with a profile for your specific lens. We may add lens correction in a future release.
After perspective fix
The corrected output usually has empty triangles in the corners (where the rectified rectangle exceeds the original frame). Crop with Aspect Ratio Crop or extend with AI Outpaint.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between perspective warp and rotation?
Rotation turns the whole image. Perspective warp un-skews it — fixing trapezoidal distortion.
Will it work on rounded objects?
Best on flat, rectangular subjects (documents, buildings, paintings). Round objects don't have a trapezoid to correct.
Does auto detection always work?
Works well when there are clear vertical or horizontal references. For ambiguous cases, switch to manual.
Can I crop after correcting?
Yes — automatic crop option fills the frame with corrected content. Or manual crop with our crop tool.
Maximum file size?
25 MB per file.
What format is the output?
Same as input.
Will quality drop?
Slight interpolation loss from the warp. Imperceptible at normal viewing scale.
Are files private?
Yes — deleted within 24 hours.
